Charlestown, Nevis (N17 07.665/W62 38.315)

Between St. Kitts and Nevis, it was a very short trip.  Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire distance.  However, by the time we were ready to take a mooring, the rain and winds had subsided and we were able to successfully grab the mooring ball on the first attempt.

St. Kitts and Nevis are part of the same country so we did not need to clear into Nevis.  However, since mooring balls are mandatory, we took one just off of Pinney Beach (about a mile north of town) and needed to go in and pay for it.  It cost $20 for 2 nights.

Town itself was very small.  It’s amazing all the prime waterfront properties that are in such a derelict state.  Someone should sweep in here and really turn this place around.  Given its current condition, it wasn’t the picture perfect postcard I imagined but quaint none-the-less.
