Charlotte-Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI

Today we went to a very nice restaurant … nicer than we can afford at least.  It had white linen tablecloths, burgundy cloth napkins, fancy glasses and everything.  This was a treat compared to the “beach like”, “bar like” places we’ve frequented lately.  Hell, I don’t remember the last time they actually gave me a glass and not a plastic cup for my drink.  Don’t the smallest of things impress me now???

It almost seemed too fancy to pull out our laptops and start working again but we have a job to do and nothing will stop us.  Besides, one of the things that attracted us to this place was that they advertised “Free” WIFI with the purchase of any meal or drink.

This was partly a celebration lunch.  Log into your Amazon account (you must be logged in for the blog to show up).  Go to the ‘search’ area, select Kindle Store (instead of all).  Then enter the search string of Tracy Lambert.  Bamm!!  You should see three items by Tracy Lambert … THAT’S ME!!!

Bahamas Bound and Back Again – A Sailing Adventure is our 2006 Bahamas logs put in chronological order, with appropriate pictures reflecting each day (cost $2.99).

Betrayal of the Heart is my first published novel (cost $2.99).

Living the Dream – A Sailing Adventure is our blog that you can subscribe to for $0.99/month.

Yippie!  We have reason to celebrate!

So, this has been an extremely success week!  The celebration must continue!  We found this adorable little bar just off the main strip in town.  It’s in the Drake’s Passage complex.  The owner was quite the character.  Never having sailed in his life before, he took a boat from St. Thomas to Boston (via Bermuda).  Wow, that’s more straight time sailing than we have done ourselves.  But … I guess he didn’t learn all he needed to.  On the return trip, they ran into Hurricane Mitch.  It devastated them and they had to call to be rescued by the coast guard.  They ended up loosing the boat … OUCH!!!  He has the news articles that he’ll bring in on Friday and we’ll stop by again to review.  Sounds real interesting.  Besides, he makes awesome drinks!  The best we’ve had in a VERY long time.  Roger, he makes your drinks seem like they’re made for tea-toddlers!  These were knock-me-on-my-ass kind of drinks!  Okay, I didn’t literally fall down but it was close!
