Nassau, Bahamas

We had a leisurely day.  In the AM, we went to the Texaco store and found free Internet.  We didn’t have to buy anything for the service.  At Starbucks, they gave you 1 hour with each purchase.  It got very expensive.  This was a nice switch.

After our chores of Internet service, we took the dinghy down to the cruise-port area (near where Larry tied up the day before).  We visited Gloria’s Daiquiri Bar and got to see Freddie.  For those of you who have traveled with us, you know it is mandatory that we stop and visit Freddie and have an awesome strawberry daiquiri.  If you’re getting off the cruise ship in Nassau, you must make this stop.  As you walk thru the terminal, you will pass a big daiquiri bar that sits right in the middle of the walkway.  Ignore that one!  You need to visit Gloria’s.  If you keep walking towards the exit of the terminal, you will find Gloria’s (run by a very friendly Bahamian named Freddy).  He was here long before the new daiquiri bar in the center of the complex was even a thought in someone’s mind.  And he treats his customers right!  Also, water and soda are only $1 so remember this before you pay the large $$$’s for water on the ship!  Gloria’s is right by the exit so be sure to stop on your way out to enjoy the town.  Too early?  Hey, you’re on vacation … ENJOY!!!  And it wouldn’t hurt to visit again on your way back to the ship.  After all, an awesome daiquiri with lots of “feelings” (as they call it when it’s spiked!) or a mediocre daiquiri on the ship for a lot more $$$’s.  Answer’s obvious … make the stop!

Freddy actually bought us our first daiquiri each.  Notice I say “first” because we had another one later that we split.  Never seem to be able to walk away with just one!
